Scientists search for clues in the blood of back pain patients

NCT ID NCT07396194

Summary

This study aims to better understand ankylosing spondylitis, a type of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine. Researchers will measure levels of specific immune system proteins (IL-17, IL-38, IL-41) and a genetic marker (HLA-B27) in the blood of 84 people—half with the condition and half without. The goal is to see how these factors relate to disease activity and severity, which could inform future research and treatment approaches.
