First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested two different anesthesia plans for people having gastric sleeve surgery. One plan used only opioids for pain, while the other added ketamine. Researchers wanted to see if adding ketamine could lower the amount of opioids needed and reduce side effects. The study included 96 patients and measured pain scores and total opioid use after surgery.
