First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested two different anesthesia plans for people having gastric sleeve surgery. One plan used only opioids for pain during surgery, while the other added ketamine. The goal was to see if adding ketamine could lower the amount of opioids needed after surgery and reduce side effects. 96 patients took part, and researchers measured pain scores and total opioid use.
