Scientists peer into the anesthetized brain
NCT ID NCT06403852
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the brain processes information at the edge of consciousness during anesthesia. Researchers used brain scans (fMRI) to measure activity in 36 healthy volunteers while they were lightly sedated with propofol. The team also tested whether gentle ultrasound stimulation could help people wake up faster from anesthesia.
