Breathing in or IV? study tests best anesthesia for sepsis surgery

Summary
This study looks at whether the type of anesthesia given during surgery affects lung injury in patients with sepsis. About 480 adults with sepsis who need surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either inhaled or intravenous anesthesia. Researchers will track how many days they need a ventilator and other outcomes for up to 90 days after surgery.
