Amniotic fluid test could predict kidney survival in unborn babies

NCT ID NCT06912490

First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study aims to validate a test that uses a 98-peptide signature in amniotic fluid to predict kidney function after birth in fetuses with congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT). Researchers will collect samples from 78 pregnant women across France to see if the test can accurately predict which babies will need dialysis or survive to age 2. The goal is to improve prenatal counseling and management for families facing these conditions.
