New bone-saving materials tested after tooth extraction

NCT ID NCT05902689

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested two materials, sticky bone and Bio-Oss collagen, to see if they help preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled. 42 adults who needed a tooth extraction were divided into three groups: natural healing, treatment with Bio-Oss collagen, or treatment with sticky bone. The goal was to measure how well each method maintained the width and height of the bone ridge, which is important for future dental implants.
