Could a ceramic putty replace bone grafts for children born with cleft lip and palate?
NCT ID NCT05331456
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a new ceramic putty against the standard bone graft surgery for repairing the gum gap (alveolar cleft) in 84 children with unilateral cleft lip and palate. The goal was to see if the putty could rebuild bone just as well, with less pain. Results will show how much bone fills in one year after treatment.
