New ceramic putty may replace bone grafts for cleft repair in kids
NCT ID NCT05331456
First seen May 08, 2026 ยท Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new ceramic putty that helps bone grow, compared to the usual method of taking bone from the child's own jaw, to repair the gap in the gum caused by a cleft lip and palate. 84 children with a cleft on one side took part. The main goal was to see how much bone filled the gap one year after surgery, and they also measured pain and tooth growth.
