First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether transplanting healthy gut bacteria can help people with rapidly progressing ALS. Twenty adults with ALS will receive the transplant after a bowel cleanse. Researchers will track changes in muscle function, quality of life, and nerve damage markers over 24 weeks to see if the treatment is safe and slows the disease.
