New scans aim to predict when ALS patients will need breathing help
NCT ID NCT06841341
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to predict when people with ALS will develop serious breathing problems. Researchers will use electrical muscle tests and ultrasound scans on 80 ALS patients to see if changes in specific breathing muscles and nerves can signal the need for breathing support earlier. The goal is to help doctors start non-invasive ventilation at the best possible time to improve quality of life.
