Scientists hunt for genetic clues in ALS and related disorders

NCT ID NCT04875416

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study aims to learn more about ALS and similar neurodegenerative diseases by looking at how a person's genetic makeup relates to their symptoms. Researchers will also search for biomarkers—biological signs that can help track or diagnose these conditions. About 217 adults with ALS, frontotemporal dementia, or related disorders will participate, but no experimental treatments are given. The goal is to improve future clinical trials and understanding of these diseases.
