Summary
This study looks for a common genetic change called alpha thalassemia trait in healthy volunteers of African ancestry aged 18-39. Participants provide a one-time saliva sample by mail or in person. The goal is to learn how these gene deletions affect blood vessels, which could help develop new treatments for blood disorders like sickle cell disease.
