Summary

This study tests whether alpha-lipoic acid, a natural antioxidant, can protect the kidneys of cancer patients receiving cisplatin chemotherapy. About 50 adults with solid tumors will take either alpha-lipoic acid or a placebo alongside their chemo. The goal is to see if the supplement reduces kidney damage and improves quality of life.
