Cleaner bedroom air could lower blood pressure for seniors
NCT ID NCT04103346
Summary
This study tested whether using portable air filters in bedrooms could reduce the negative effects of air pollution on heart health in older adults. Fifty-two non-smoking seniors living in an apartment building near road pollution tried both real and fake (sham) air filters for four weeks each. Researchers measured changes in blood pressure and other heart health markers to see if cleaner indoor air made a difference.
