First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) could more accurately diagnose liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with metabolic fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Researchers compared AI models using ultrasound and clinical data to standard non-invasive blood tests in 522 Egyptian adults. The goal is to improve early detection and reduce the need for invasive liver biopsies.
