First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) can more accurately diagnose liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Researchers compared AI models using FibroScan and clinical data to traditional scoring methods like FIB-4 and APRI. Over 500 adults participated, and the goal was to improve early diagnosis without needing a liver biopsy.
