Summary

This study tested whether an automated AI voice call can successfully follow up with people who had shoulder surgery, instead of a human calling. About 310 adults who had shoulder instability surgery at least a year earlier received an AI call asking about their recovery. Some got a text message beforehand to see if that helped them answer. The goal was to see if the AI could accurately collect patient-reported outcomes compared to a human reviewer.
