NCT ID NCT05869058
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study is developing an artificial intelligence system to help surgeons find and check the health of parathyroid glands during thyroid surgery. These small glands are hard to see and can be accidentally damaged, leading to complications. The AI will be trained on hundreds of surgery images to learn what the glands look like and how well blood is flowing to them. The goal is to give surgeons a real-time tool to protect these glands and improve patient outcomes.
