Smartphone AI could replace costly devices for psoriasis redness checks

NCT ID NCT07494396

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study aims to develop and test an AI system that uses smartphone photos with a color card to measure redness in psoriasis lesions. Currently, doctors assess redness by eye, which can vary. The goal is to see if this smartphone method is as accurate as a standard, expensive color-measuring device. About 50 adults with psoriasis will take weekly photos at home and have clinic photos taken for comparison.
