First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether using artificial intelligence (AI) to predict kidney transplant failure helps patients, their families, and doctors have better conversations about what to do next. 76 adults with a functioning kidney transplant but declining kidney function took part. The goal was to see if AI tools improve shared decision-making about future treatments like dialysis or another transplant.
