First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested an AI tool to help decide which low-risk patients with suspected heart disease should get a safer CT scan instead of an invasive heart catheterization. The goal was to reduce unnecessary invasive procedures, which are costly and carry risks. About 251 adults referred for non-urgent heart testing took part. The AI-guided approach aims to improve diagnosis while keeping patients safer.
