AI maps may help surgeons remove more of a deadly brain tumor
NCT ID NCT05735171
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to plan surgery for glioblastoma, the most common and aggressive brain cancer. Doctors used an AI model that predicts where the tumor is likely to come back, allowing them to remove extra tissue around the main tumor. The goal was to see if this approach is feasible and could help patients live longer. The study included 20 adults whose tumors were in brain areas safe to operate on.
