AI could spot lung cancer earlier by reading CT scans

NCT ID NCT07360145

First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study is testing whether artificial intelligence (AI) can help doctors find and describe lung nodules on CT scans. Lung cancer is often caught late, but early detection can greatly improve survival. The AI will learn from past scans and reports to automatically recognize nodules and write descriptions. About 329 adults with lung nodules will have their CT scans and biopsy results used to train and test the AI model.
