AI could take the guesswork out of Bell's palsy recovery

NCT ID NCT07573358

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study will check if an artificial intelligence (AI) system can accurately measure facial paralysis in people with Bell's palsy. Currently, doctors use subjective scales that can vary between observers. The AI analyzes facial movements using a camera and compares its scores to the standard clinical method. If successful, this could lead to more consistent and objective monitoring of recovery.
