AI-Powered heart screening on your phone: a new way to catch hidden heart disease in families

NCT ID NCT06609174

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a mobile ECG device, analyzed by artificial intelligence, can help screen close relatives of people with dilated cardiomyopathy (a weakened heart muscle). 119 participants used a Kardia 6-lead device to send their heart signals to the cloud for AI analysis. The goal was to see how many relatives completed the screening and if the AI could detect low heart pumping function (ejection fraction ≤45%). This approach could make heart screening easier and more accessible for at-risk families.
