AI reads your Heart's electrical signals to spot silent valve disease

NCT ID NCT06580158

First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether artificial intelligence can make a standard electrocardiogram (ECG) better at finding two common heart conditions: aortic stenosis and diastolic dysfunction. Researchers at Mayo Clinic will enroll 2000 adults aged 60 and older who are already scheduled for an ECG. If the AI flags a possible problem, participants will get a focused ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis. The goal is to see if this AI tool can help doctors catch these conditions earlier, especially in places where advanced heart imaging is not easily available.
