AI could spot breast cancer on routine chest scans, no extra tests needed

NCT ID NCT07557654

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study will see if artificial intelligence can help detect breast cancer from standard chest CT scans that are already done for other reasons. Researchers will compare the AI's accuracy to mammograms and breast MRIs in 5,000 women. If successful, this could allow earlier detection without extra radiation or cost.
