Blood test and AI team up to sniff out lung cancer early in smokers

NCT ID NCT07552584

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a blood test, combined with artificial intelligence (AI), can help find lung cancer early in people with COPD who are current or former smokers. About 1,000 participants will give a blood sample, and the AI will analyze it to see who has a higher risk of lung cancer. Those at higher risk will then get a low-dose CT scan to check for cancer. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and safe for catching lung cancer sooner.
