First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether healthcare workers who wear a special suit that mimics the physical challenges of aging become more empathetic toward older adults. 82 nurses, therapists, and other staff from four nursing homes either attended a class on aging or also wore the suit. Those who wore the suit showed significant improvements in empathy, especially in understanding patients' perspectives and providing compassionate care.
