New scan aims to sharpen prostate cancer radiation, reduce harm
NCT ID NCT04176497
Summary
This study tested whether using a special combination of two advanced scans (PSMA-PET and MRI) could help doctors more precisely target radiation therapy for men with high-risk prostate cancer. The goal was to see if this approach was safe and could effectively treat the cancer while potentially reducing damage to nearby healthy tissues, like the bladder and rectum. The study was small and ended early, so its findings are limited.
