Could a Two-Drug cocktail replace triple therapy for heart patients?
NCT ID NCT04695106
First seen Jun 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026
Summary
This study compares a two-drug combination (dabigatran and ticagrelor) against the standard three-drug therapy (dabigatran, clopidogrel, and aspirin) in about 1,200 adults with atrial fibrillation who recently had a stent placed after a heart attack. The goal is to see if the two-drug approach causes fewer major bleeding events while still preventing blood clots and other heart problems. Participants will take their assigned treatment for 12 months.
