Summary

This completed study looked at 224 adults who already had at least one psychiatric condition to see how many also had undiagnosed ADHD. Researchers measured how often ADHD was missed and tracked quality of life in those diagnosed. The goal is to highlight the need for better detection of ADHD in adults with other mental health disorders.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could raise awareness about undiagnosed ADHD in adults with other mental health conditions, potentially leading to better screening practices.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study with no treatment being tested, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not apply to all populations or settings.
