First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new 'adaptive' brain stimulation system that automatically adjusts to a person's needs, compared to standard constant stimulation. About 104 adults with Parkinson's disease who already have a brain implant will try both modes to see which gives them more symptom-free time without side effects. The goal is to improve daily function and quality of life.
