First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests a new high-density microelectrode designed to record the activity of individual nerve cells in the brain. Researchers will compare its performance and safety to standard electrodes in 10 people with Parkinson's disease who are already scheduled for deep brain stimulation surgery. The goal is to see if the new electrode can provide better measurements of brain activity.
