First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding acupuncture and yoga to a doctor-supervised medication reduction plan helps older adults (65+) safely lower their use of benzodiazepines and similar drugs for anxiety and insomnia. Over 12 weeks, 23 participants received weekly acupuncture, private yoga classes, and gradual dose reduction. The goal was to see if this combination makes it easier to cut back without worsening symptoms.
