Acupuncture may boost opioid power for fibromyalgia sufferers

NCT ID NCT06571110

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether acupuncture can make opioid painkillers work better for people with fibromyalgia. About 45 adults who already take daily opioids for fibromyalgia pain will receive either real acupuncture or a sham (fake) version. Researchers will measure how much pain changes after taking an opioid, comparing the two groups to see if real acupuncture provides an extra boost.
