NCT ID NCT02707705

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tested if a simple ear acupuncture treatment could help lower anxiety in women waiting for a planned cesarean section. 91 women were given either a small needle patch, a needle-free patch, or no patch on their ear. The goal was to see if the acupuncture could calm nerves without using anxiety medications, which are often avoided before birth.
