Gentle touch in the ICU: acupressure eases pain and anxiety
NCT ID NCT06994715
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether acupressure (a gentle finger pressure technique) can help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) feel less pain and anxiety, sleep better, and feel more connected to their nurses. Sixty adult ICU patients were split into three groups: one received real acupressure, one received a fake version, and one got standard care. The results will show if this simple, drug-free method can improve comfort and well-being for critically ill patients.
