Gentle pressure, big relief? acupressure tested in ICU
NCT ID NCT06994715
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether acupressure—a gentle finger pressure technique—can help intensive care patients with pain, sleep, anxiety, and their sense of nursing care. Sixty adults in the ICU were split into three groups: one received real acupressure, one received a fake version, and one got standard care. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free approach could improve comfort and well-being during a stressful hospital stay.
