Gentle pressure, big relief? acupressure may boost sleep and hope in seniors
NCT ID NCT07435246
First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether acupressure—a gentle finger-pressure technique—could improve sleep, quality of life, and feelings of hopelessness in older adults living in a nursing home. Fifty people aged 65 and older were split into two groups: one received acupressure three times a week for four weeks, and the other got usual care. Researchers measured changes using standard questionnaires. The goal is to see if this safe, non-drug approach can help older adults feel better day-to-day.
