New patch could speed recovery from achilles tendon tears

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special collagen patch during surgery helps people recover better from a torn Achilles tendon. Researchers will compare surgery with the patch to standard surgery without it in 48 adults. They will check how well the tendon heals and how much function returns over a year.
