New patch could speed up achilles tendon healing after surgery

NCT ID NCT07130357

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special collagen patch during surgery helps people recover better from a torn Achilles tendon. 48 adults who need surgery will be randomly assigned to get the standard repair or the standard repair plus the patch. Researchers will compare how well the tendon heals and how much function returns over a year.
