Summary

This study looks at how the FDA-approved drug acamprosate affects brain function in people with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder. About 48 adults aged 21 to 65 will stay in the clinic for 21 days, taking either acamprosate or a placebo. Researchers will use EEG to measure brain electrical activity at the start and end of treatment to see if the drug changes brain wave patterns linked to craving and anxiety.
