Brain scans reveal how alcoholism drug works in some people

Summary

This study looks at how the drug acamprosate changes brain activity in people with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder. Researchers will use EEG to measure brain waves in 48 adults who stay in the clinic for about 3 weeks. Half get the drug, half get a placebo, and the goal is to understand why acamprosate helps some people but not others.
