Simple massage and bed exercises may ease stomach troubles for seriously ill patients

NCT ID NCT07125482

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether abdominal massage and in-bed exercises can reduce gastrointestinal problems like constipation, diarrhea, and bloating in palliative care patients who are fed through a tube. About 105 adults in a palliative care unit will be split into groups to receive either massage, exercise, or standard care for three days. The goal is to see if these simple, drug-free approaches can improve patient comfort and quality of life.
