First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tested a shorter, higher-dose radiation schedule for people with early-stage breast cancer (stages 0 to IIB). Instead of the usual several weeks, treatment was completed in just 9 days. The goal was to see if this approach could control the cancer while causing fewer side effects and preserving the breast's appearance. The trial enrolled 102 participants who had surgery to remove the tumor.
