New scan could reveal hidden cancer spread in Tough-to-Treat tumors

NCT ID NCT07478523

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of PET scan (68Ga-FAPI-46) can better detect the spread of pancreatic and bile duct cancers compared to standard CT and MRI scans. About 120 adults with newly diagnosed, potentially curable cancer will receive the new scan. If it proves more accurate, it could help doctors choose the right treatment and avoid unnecessary surgeries.
