3D ultrasound could help patients see and understand their clogged arteries
NCT ID NCT05134311
First seen Jun 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether a new 3D ultrasound system can help people with vascular disease better understand their condition. Researchers will give 270 patients a 3D image of their blood vessels instead of a simple hand-drawn sketch. They want to see if this leads to better treatment compliance and fewer hospital readmissions within 30 days.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
PIUR Infinity tUS 3D ultrasound imaging system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a better way to show patients their vascular problems, potentially improving understanding and follow-through with treatment.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study comparing outcomes to past patients, not a randomized trial. The 3D images may not significantly change patient behavior or readmission rates.
Conditions
