Scientists map Kids' nerves in 3D to guide delicate surgeries
NCT ID NCT05763615
Summary
This study tested a new 3D imaging method to help surgeons plan operations for children with head/neck tumors or birth defects. Researchers used a special 10-minute MRI scan on 7 children aged 1-5 to create detailed maps of delicate nerves in the face and neck. The goal was to see if these 3D maps accurately showed where nerves were located to help make surgery safer and more precise.
